5 out of 5 starsI have been interested in Renaissance Faires for years and finally went to my first one last year. I borrowed my sister's bodice (Also by OddBodkin) to go to Faire but it was ill-fitting and I knew I'd like to invest in my own. My sister swears by OddBodkin bodices and didn't recommend any other! I had a difficult time selecting a design but finally settled for this gorgeous teal corduroy. It's soft and velvety, a nice thick material but not too thick for Southern California weather. I had a small mishap with the initial shipment but got it sorted very quickly! The seller had amazing customer service and she was really friendly and helpful if I had any questions.

4 out of 5 starsThe bodice itself is well constructed, a great style/cut and lovely material. The lacing is awful, but very easy to replace. I was originally expecting the item to be shipped out by the end of March per communication with the seller; but it did not arrive until 4/13 (two weeks later than expected). The turn around is slow, so just keep that in mind. I placed my order in late January and just got my item today; so definitely plan ahead!

5 out of 5 starsVery Pretty! We got a custom bodice done and she was very helpful showing up different fabrics and working with us. The wait was long and it did ship a lot later then planned so make sure to give yourself plenty of extra time before it's needed!

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions
Bodices can be spot cleaned with upholstery cleaner or mild soap and lukewarm water. Check for colorfastness on a hidden area first. Febreez and air out your bodice if it gets musty smelling. Use a steamer for cleaning/pressing.
If your bodice is particularly dirty, try to remove most of the mud/mess while it's dry with a stiff brush. Then, hang in the shower, spray with lukewarm water, and let drip dry.
Dry cleaning or machine washing is NOT recommended. Use these same directions for doublets.
Chemises, skirts, bloomers, pants, shirts, etc can be machine washed in warm water on permanent press, then machine dry on low until damp, then hang to dry completely. Iron can be used on poly blend setting.

Odd Bodkin is a one woman show, so wholesale is not available.
Custom and personalized orders
I love doing custom orders! Email with your ideas and pictures and we can collaborate or call and make an appointment if you are in Houston. You can come into the studio, touch the fabric and make all the decisions! No worries! I'll walk you through it either through email or in person.
Rush Orders
Rush orders are on a case by case basis and may require an additional fee for a guaranteed ship by/in hand date. Please give me as much time as possible to make your garb!
Are your bodices reversible?
None of my bodices are reversible. They way they are constructed allows me (or my clients) to easily repair broken boning strips and prevents permanent damage to the fabric if/when the boning wears through the bone casing.
Metal is always going to win against fabric eventually, and by making bodices this way, I can extend the life of the bodice for many years.
